Service Centres

A service centre is a community based care and support service where older persons are provided with organised programmes and activities which assist them to live independently in their communities.
A service centre is a gateway to the ageing network—connecting older adults to vital community services that can help them stay healthy and independent. A membership option for people over the age of 60 to qualify for discounted rates and various activities hosted at the Helderberg Society for the Aged.

VONKE SERVICE CENTRE

The Vonke Senior Rendezvous membership requirements are:

  • You have to be 60 years or older.
  • When a couple joins, at least one spouse must be 60 or older.
  • Fees are payable annually for the period 1 April to 31 March.
  • This membership needs to be renewed annually.

GARDEN VILLAGE SERVICE CENTRE

Garden Village Service Centre is for persons 60 years and older in the Garden Village, Laurentia Park, Helderzicht and surrounding areas. Garden Village currently meets Mondays, Wednesdays and every second Thrusday from 9:00 – 12:30. Garden Village Service Centre runs a variety of activities & programmes that enhance participants daily lives, educate and support them.

The service centre gives older persons the opportunity to socialise with their peers in a non-threatening environment, talking about their thoughts and their lives.
