Helderberg Society for the Aged

WELCOME TO HELDERBERG SOCIETY FOR THE AGED

Since its inception in 1958, The Helderberg Society for the Aged has grown from a small Rotary initiative to caring for approximately 770 residents. Our foundation of care rests on our Four Pillars of Service: Independent Living, Assisted Living, Frail Care and Home Based Care.

SERVICES AND FACILITIES

but who doesn’t want the responsibility of household chores.

HOME BASED CARE

This service offers caring and cleaning  to HSFA residents at our Independent and Assisted Living Units.

FRAIL CARE

WHAT OUR RESIDENTS SAY

Dear staff of the Helderberg Lodge (HFSA Support Centre) we appreciate your condolences very much. We have to express our sincere gratitude for all your assistance and all your support throughout the whole year when you have taken care for the wellbeing of our mother.  We would like to say ‘Thank you’ to each and every single staff member, who took care of our mother, and especially to Sister Colleen, who always gave us support and the right advice. Thank you as well to Marisca, who was a huge help in the admission process and throughout the whole year for all the different administrative issues.

During the night of 1 December, my mother Marie Olivier (Mountview 16), lowered her rail guard and tried to get out of bed unassisted. The night shift staff noticed and were at hand to ensure her safety and avoidance of injury. They placed the mattress on the floor and even brought in a portable rail to ensure she did not roll off the mattress. More incidents followed later during the night and they kept returning to ensure Mom’s safety. I would like to recommend these staff members for their prompt action and professional conduct, to let them know that their conduct is greatly appreciated. Please be so kind as to convey our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the team. Nurses Myburgh and Prinsloo have clearly trained their teams well!
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with some well deserved rest inbetween.

I would like to thank the staff of Vonke Huis where my father lived independently and also in the Support Centre where he spent his last few weeks. Everyone was kind and obliging.
