The Residents and Staff of the HSFA were privileged to have an visit from the team from Helderberg Hospice. It is important to be reminded that we have this caring team on our doorstep – an organisation that facilitates the quality of life and alleviates suffering within our community so that people experience peace, comfort and dignity when it matters most. Thank you to Robert De Wet, Sr Thandi Sililo, Julian, Weil, Cheryl Rundle, Karin Gordon, Celestine Van Der Merwe and team for your informative talks and for sharing your knowledge of hospice care. With the HSFA Helderberg Society For the Aged and Helderberg Hospice both being NPO’s in the Somerset West Community, it was extra special to combine our knowledge and share insights. #hospice #hospicecare #HelderbergHospice

It is the community of the Helderberg region that supports and allows our HSFA team to care for those elderly without family or financial support. We recently had a fundraising dinner to build awareness of what the HSFA does, whilst thanking those pillars of our society for their ongoing support. If you would like donate or sponsor our events please email marketing@hsfa.org.za or visit https://hsfa.org.za/get-involved/donate/ . Additional thank you’s to Simply Sparkles Party Light Hire for transforming our simple hall into a glamorous dining venue, GERATEC for their 5 star catering and the team from Lourensford Estate for doing a wine tasting and providing fabulous wine. #fundraising #supporttheelderly

The show “HSFA HAS TALENT 2023” was a roaring success with the fabulous performances and the arts and crafts on display of an exceptionally high standard! Thank you to all involved in making this event happen: Eureka Haefele (aka the ‘darling’ Liewe Heksie) and her hard working team, Lance Theile (aka Koning Roosekrants), and all our stars – the residents who preformed or showed their craft. Special thanks goes to Theo Rix our presenter; Ann and Garth Coetzee and from the Playhouse Theatre Somerset West who sponsored the performance as well as Blue Crane Funerals who sponsored the coffees, teas and snacks and Lindsay Ebersöhn who shared some photos.
