HSFA Thanks donors and partners at fundraiser

HSFA Thanks donors and partners at fundraiser

For an unforgettable night, the HSFA’s Vonke Hall was transformed into an elegant fine dining restaurant, where the HSFA hosted our bi-annual fundraising and networking dinner. Esteemed members of our Somerset community gathered to support and raise awareness for the HSFA, our mission, our Section 18A status, and the vital role that bequests and donations from the community play in sustaining our NPO. Among our guests were Standard Bank – South Africa, Village Collective, Dewvest, Fontijn, Dr Sharon Truter Neuropsychology, Imibala Trust, Matthee Prokureurs, Classic Bathrooms, Laminin Paints Western Cape, and Frontline Electrical. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with new partners and thank those who have been our donor supporters in the past.
The evening’s meal and striking table settings were crafted by GERATEC, with decor by AXIS Event Solutions and Simply Sparkles Party Light Hire, whose talents brought a touch of magic. The winemaking team from Saxonberg Wine Estate, Guinea Fowl Restaurant delighted our guests with a splendid wine tasting experience and kindly sponsored all the wine. What amazing days at HSFA Assisted Living Units Silver Oaks Lodge and Robari Lodge!  Their Hat Parade was a blast, filled with creativity, laughter, and lots of unique hats! From colorful feathers to classic fedoras, everyone brought their A-game. A big thank you to all the participants and staff who made this event so special. The joy and camaraderie reminded us all of the wonderful community we have here. #HSFASilverOaks #HatParade2024 #CommunityFun #CreativityUnleashed #MakingMemories

Gordon High Rotary Interact Club visits Silver Oaks

Gordon High Rotary Interact Club visits Silver Oaks

What a special visit we had from Gordon High School at HSFA Silver Oaks Lodge! Gordon High School has an Interact Club in partnership with Helderberg Sunrise Rotary Club, which supports and serves the community. Its motto, “Empowering tomorrow, one act of service at a time,” embodies how they are already making a positive impact. The new presidents, (impressive young leaders) Carry-On and Rihanna, along with a dedicated team of students, are ‘living’ this mission. They visited HSFA’s Silver Oaks Lodge, where the residents were each given a gift of toiletries and were treated to an afternoon of fun, singing, music, memories, and dancing. Thank you to all the students who lit up our residents’ lives, allowed them to share their stories and happy memories, and got their feet tapping or moving on the dance floor!
“Being with you all made me feel relieved and grateful. The interactions between the students and the elderly were heartwarming to witness. There were moments of shared laughter, stories exchanged, and bonds formed that will be cherished for a long time. The joy and gratitude on the faces of the elderly attendees were a testament to the positive impact of the event,” said the young president Carry On.
