HSFA Upskills more carers – APCC Palliative Care Course

HSFA Upskills more carers – APCC Palliative Care Course

We are incredibly proud to announce that 10 of our caregivers have successfully completed their Introduction to Palliative Care course with APCC! 🎉 Hosted by Helderberg Hospice, this training equipped them with essential skills to provide compassionate and specialized care to our residents. A huge shoutout to Sr. Thandi, who put them through their ranks and ensured they excelled in both their exam and practical assessments!
This training was made possible thanks to a generous donation received by Helderberg Training Centre, which we are utilising to upskill our employees and enhance the quality of care we provide.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in this journey—together, we are making a real difference! 💙
The team that benefitted: Bernadette Wessels, Cindy Wessels, Vuyokazi Vavi, Bongiwe Combo, Nombeko Mqanduli, Roche Cloete, Patience Ntsholo, Eunice Ntsholo, Monique Visagie and Deidre Samuels

Our HSFA Knitting talent at Mountview Frailcare

A special thank you goes out to our wonderful residents at HSFA Mountview Frailcare, Joan Moen and Edith Hofmeyr, for their incredible dedication and generosity. Over the past few months, Joan and Edith have been tirelessly knitting beautiful crafts, which they have now graciously donated to Heartlands Baby Sanctuary.
This heartwarming effort bridges the gap between generations, showcasing the kindness and creativity of our elderly community members, and bringing joy to the little ones at Heartlands.

Cross Generational Smiles and Flowers

Cross Generational Smiles and Flowers

Spending quality time with different generations is a win-win! 🌟 Young and old, coming together brings so much happiness. Kids’ energy is contagious and can uplift seniors’ spirits. Studies even prove that bridging generations boosts confidence, communication, and memory! But it’s not a one-way street! Children also gain from these bonds. Some might not have grandparents, and connecting with elders in the community has tons of perks. Seniors share wisdom and enhance academic skills. Plus, their patience and listening skills are top-notch. They truly give kids their undivided attention, something parents and teachers know is priceless! Below are some more photos from Beaumont Primary School grade 0’s who visited our Assisted Living residents from HSFA’s Robari Lodge and Silver Oaks Lodge and brought flowers, singing and happiness to our wise ones! #GenerationsTogether #WisdomSharing #CommunityLove”
