HSFA’s Garden Village Rotary Treat

The Somerset West community really ‘came to the party’ to support our HSFA Garden Village seniors! A big thank you Rotary Club of Somerset West for sponsoring the delicious Christmas meal beautifully prepared and presented by GERATEC. Also thank you to Beaumont Primary School and the team of donors from “Oldies for Oldies” for donating the presents which were gratefully received by the seniors of Garden Village. Thank you Shireen, Rika, Carmelee, Noleen, Nellie Adri and team for the continued dedication to the wellbeing of this special HSFA community.

“I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver. “ Maya Angelou
Thank you to the kind group of givers in Somerset West, who name themselves “Oldies for Oldies” who made fabulous gift hampers for our residents. This will benefit those without access to family support over this festive season. The gifts are being gratefully received at the respective Christmas parties of the HSFA units. Thank you to Cathy Van Vollenstee, Pauline Constable, Lorraine Brecher and all the Busy Babies Parents and Gogos!!!
Cross Generational Smiles and Flowers

Cross Generational Smiles and Flowers

Spending quality time with different generations is a win-win! 🌟 Young and old, coming together brings so much happiness. Kids’ energy is contagious and can uplift seniors’ spirits. Studies even prove that bridging generations boosts confidence, communication, and memory! But it’s not a one-way street! Children also gain from these bonds. Some might not have grandparents, and connecting with elders in the community has tons of perks. Seniors share wisdom and enhance academic skills. Plus, their patience and listening skills are top-notch. They truly give kids their undivided attention, something parents and teachers know is priceless! Below are some more photos from Beaumont Primary School grade 0’s who visited our Assisted Living residents from HSFA’s Robari Lodge and Silver Oaks Lodge and brought flowers, singing and happiness to our wise ones! #GenerationsTogether #WisdomSharing #CommunityLove”

HSFA Service Centre The Squares knitting for Charities

The HSFA Vonke Service Centre Knitting Group, “The Squares,” created beautiful knitted items such as jerseys, scarves, beanies, and blankets and delivered them to Heartlands Baby Sanctuary in Strand last week. The effort and generosity of your group members are commendable, and it’s heartening to see people coming together to make a positive impact on the lives of others. The founding group members are Joey Bianchina, Esme Long and Ellen Maree. Please note that these ladies actually buy wool themselves. Should anyone from the community wish to drop off ‘Double wool’ at Vonke Security gate we would be most grateful.
Organisations like Heartlands Baby Sanctuary play a crucial role in providing care and support to vulnerable infants, and your knitting group’s contributions undoubtedly make a difference in their lives. It’s acts of kindness and compassion like this that help build stronger and more connected communities. Thank you and your knitting group, “The Squares,” for making a positive difference and spreading kindness through your craft. Keep up the fantastic work!

HSFA knitters giving back to Little Lambs

Thank you for the heart-warming and generous effort by the HSFA Knitting groups! The act of creating beautiful jerseys, hats, and blankets for premature babies shows not only their knitting skills but also their immense compassion and empathy for those in need. The Little Lambs organisation appreciated the thoughtful gesture, especially during the cold winter months when premature babies need extra warmth and care. #knitting #littlelambs Little Lambs NPO 069-435
